Karon ReeseBeing raised mostly in South America, Karon Reese moved to New Orleans in 2011 and fell hard and fast in love with the city. She has an undergrad degree in Creative Writing, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of Arkansas. Karon taught English at the university level, but for the last 20 years she has sold real estate. In 2018, she opened Reese & Co, a boutique real estate firm in the Lower Garden District on Magazine Street, along with her partners. It’s a women-owned firm serving all of New Orleans.

When she’s not listing and selling the gorgeous architecture of New Orleans she’s hosting Mardi Gras parade parties, not missing a day of Jazz Fest, and frequenting all of the city’s great restaurants. Karon serves as a board member of the New Orleans Film Society, as vice president of Friends of the New Orleans Library, and assists with fundraising for the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights. Karon first became intrigued with Roots while watching them during Mardi Gras parades. She believes that this organization perfectly encapsulates the spirit of New Orleans and what makes it such a great city.
