SPROUTS
OF MUSIC
Sprouts of Music is The Roots of Music’s early childhood music program for children ages 3–8. Offered during the school day through partnerships with Educare New Orleans and KIPP Believe, the program introduces young learners to rhythm, melody, singing, movement, and group music-making through weekly 45-minute sessions of fun and learning! Led by a qualified music educator, our curriculum is designed to educate our youth in a fun, safe environment and to reinforce the skills learned in their music classroom. Sprouts of Music helps students build foundational musical skills while supporting early learning and social-emotional development.

MARCHING CRUSADERS
Our Marching Crusaders band program serves youth ages 9-14 from low-income households and provides our students with hot meals and round-trip transportation to reduce common barriers to participation.
Five days a week, 12 months a year, this program delivers over 2,500 hours of instrumental music education, music theory and other academic tutoring, over 30,400 nutritious hot meals, 1,400 bus journeys, and supplies up to 200 instruments for student use free of charge.

ROOTS STUDIO ACADEMY
Roots Studio Academy is The Roots of Music’s 10-month audio engineering, music production, and music industry training program for New Orleans youth ages 15–18. Students receive hands-on instruction in recording, sound engineering, music production, and music industry studies while building technical and professional skills. Through The Roots of Music’s partnership with Delgado Community College, participants can access a dual enrollment pathway that allows them to earn college credit while continuing their training. Students also collaborate as part of the Roots Studio Academy All-Star Band, gaining live performance experience while developing skills in production, collaboration, and the music business. This program opens pathways for young people to pursue careers and continued education in the music and creative industries.
