Katie Smith


As Vice President of Marketing at the non-profit Audubon Nature Institute, Katie Smith is responsible for brand strategy, including digital marketing, creative development, media and employee communications, partnerships and marketing events.
A graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, Katie began her career as a public relations assistant at Alligator Records in Chicago, working to help promote iconic blues musicians such as Koko Taylor and Lonnie Brooks. She returned to New Orleans to work for Peter Mayer Advertising and the New Orleans Jazz Institute while attending the Arts Administration Master’s Program at the University of New Orleans.
She serves on the Association of Zoos & Aquariums Public Relation Committee and formerly on the board of Irish Fest New Orleans and past advisory board member for the New Orleans Jazz Institute.
